In 30 seconds

  • Spain's Estatuto de los Trabajadores (Workers' Statute) allows a contract to be made “in writing or verbally”; a written one doesn't have to be on paper.
  • It must be in writing for, among others, temporary contracts of more than four weeks, part-time contracts and seasonal permanent (fijo-discontinuo) contracts.
  • If a contract isn't in writing when it should be, it's presumed to be permanent and full-time.

How to do it

  1. Create the contract as a PDF.
  2. Upload it at Sign for free and choose “Someone else”. Add the employee's signature and, with “+ Add person”, the company's.
  3. Ask for any missing details: “DNI”, “Address”, Social Security number with “+ Other detail”…
  4. Send it. Once both have signed, you have the signed contract with its record.
