Questions
What people ask us most.
Do I have to sign up?
No. Neither you nor the person signing. They get an email with a button, open it and sign.
How do I sign a PDF document from my phone?
Open this page on your phone, tap “Choose document” and pick the PDF or take a photo of the paper. Tap “Add my signature”, sign with your finger and drag it into place. Then download it or send it by email. If someone else needs to sign, tap “+ Add another signer”.
Can I sign a Word document or a photo?
You can sign a PDF or a photo (JPG or PNG) of the document. If it's in Word, save it as a PDF first using “Save as”.
Can several people sign the same document?
Yes, up to five. You mark what each person has to fill in and where they sign, and they all get it at the same time. If you also need to sign (for example, a rental agreement), you add your signature before sending it. Each signature has the signer's unique code underneath, and the record includes everyone's details.
What if someone forgets to sign?
We send them an email reminder every two days, up to three times, while the document is still pending. You don't have to do anything.
When do I get the signed document?
As soon as the other person signs. It arrives in your email as a PDF, with their details filled in and a record of the date and time of signing.
Where is my document?
If you sign it yourself, it never leaves your phone or computer. If you send it to someone else, we store it encrypted and privately just so they can sign it, and we delete it 30 days later.
Is a digital signature the same as an electronic signature?
Many people call signing on a phone or computer a “free digital signature”: that's what MultiDocs does. Signing with a digital certificate or DNIe is something else and is only needed for some procedures. We explain the difference.
Is it legally valid?
It's a simple electronic signature under the European eIDAS regulation, valid for most everyday documents. Every document comes with a record of the date, time and digital fingerprint of the original. If a procedure requires a qualified signature (with a digital certificate), use that instead.
