When the team travels to a tournament or an away game, the club needs consent from the family of each child. This template gives you a starting point.

  • For trips within Spain, the club’s consent form signed by the family is enough.
  • If the child leaves Spain without their parents, they also need the official travel permit (Instrucción 10/2019 SES), valid for 90 days.
  • For frequent competitions, a single official permit with an annex of dates and activities will do.

Travelling abroad: the official permit

When a Spanish child living in Spain leaves the country without either parent or guardian, they also need the travel permit declaration regulated by Instrucción 10/2019 of the Secretary of State for Security. It’s done at a Policía Nacional station or a Guardia Civil post. According to the Ministry of the Interior’s FAQs:

“They will be valid for 90 days from issue.”

  • The child doesn’t need to go: one parent or legal representative is enough.
  • In the companion field, the organisation running the trip can appear instead of each coach; the Ministry says so explicitly for schools.
  • For frequent trips, such as sports competitions, a single permit covering those circumstances is enough, with an annex of dates and activities.
  • It’s shown at the border, not to the transport company.

The club’s consent form (the template above) is still useful: it records the contact phone, medical notes and the family’s agreement to the trip.

FAQs

Do you need a consent form for each trip?

It’s the safest option, because each trip has different dates, destinations and people in charge.
